Ruth experienced a life of frustration as she became a widow at a very young age. Ruth husband was the son of Naomi. After his death Ruth a very young woman honored her widow, mother in law by choosing to remain close to her. Ruth's mother in law [Naomi] lost both of her sons approximately 10 years after her husbands death. Naomi warned her two daughter in laws Orpah and Ruth to go back to their Mother's home. Can you imagine how hard this is to become a widow at a young age? Nevertheless, Ruth made a decision that she would stay right by her mother in law side unto death. So, Naomi decided to go back to her home town Bethlehem, where she felt she would be accepted. She went back to live with one of her husband relatives, who was known as a very wealthy man by the name of Boaz. Ruth made a decision to care for her mother in law with Agape love despite her husband's death. This execution of Agape Love not only moved Naomi who had lost her husband and her two sons but also God. Ruth's love toward her mother in law touched the heart of God and moved His hand in her life. She accompanied her mother in law back into a familiar land to her mother in law but a foreign land to her because she was a Moabite. She went out into the field in the day and requested to glean the field behind the reapers. In essence she was requesting to pickup the leftovers in the field so that she could in some way provide for her and Naomi. Her humility and compassion toward her mother in law provoked God to grant her favor with Boaz. This favor led to him marrying her and the needs of her and Naomi's being provided.

Ruth transitioned from the frustration of a widow when she chose to show Agape Love toward Naomi, her mother in law who was also a widow. Ruth's actions showed God that she had genuine love in her heart toward her mother in law. Although she was not sure how she would manage she chose to stay with her mother in law and in return God granted her favor with a wealthy relative that enabled Ruth to go from poverty to royalty. She managed to experience God's hand even while being faithful to her deceased husband's Mom.
